We provide opportunities for health care professionals to care for underserved populations in developing countries.  Our trips are generally only one week long.  This enables our professionals to spend enough time to make a significant impact on the health of their temporary patients without placing an undue burden on their own individual means of earning a livelihood.  We encourage first time volunteers but always include at least one experienced team member on each trip.  We are eager to share our insights and revelations with other interested parties as well.  Friends and family are invited to participate in pre and post-trip gatherings and briefings.  Each team also includes a non-medical member or two to serve as “gopher”, crowd control, and general support person.  In this way we can include a wider variety of participants, each with an important role.
